Talpa Mission Church Near Taos
Talpa Mission Church was south of Taos, but it no longer stands. I painted from several historic black & white photos. I have included the one that shows a man standing the roof. This church was apparently not very large.

Landscape
I do not always paint what was in front of me. I will photograph a dirt road in one place and a creek somewhere else, then merge them into one landscape that never existed. Sometimes I add something that belongs there anyway, like the red hawk at Valley of the Gods, or the elk I snuck into a commission as a surprise for a client.
