San Luis Valley Ranch Road
On my way to New Mexico I was struck by the peaceful meadow and ranch road. The texture created in the trees was so much fun.

A lot of these paintings started with my teardrop trailer. I will pull it out to places like Shiprock or Valley of the Gods, camp overnight, and be up before dawn chasing the long shadows. Sometimes my Chihuahua comes along. More than once a view has stopped me in my tracks and I have driven home knowing exactly what I am going to paint.
