Adjacent to Cerro Pedernal, NM. My sister and I visited Pedernal a couple of times recently. This painted emerged as a play with the colors and shapes.

Bluffs
A lot of these paintings started with my teardrop trailer. I will pull it out to places like Shiprock or Valley of the Gods, camp overnight, and be up before dawn chasing the long shadows. Sometimes my Chihuahua comes along. More than once a view has stopped me in my tracks and I have driven home knowing exactly what I am going to paint.
