This painting centered around a new process I was trying in which I started with a black canvas. While I photoed the site in the day, this painting wanted to be a night scene.

I am a native Colorado artist and I paint out of Pueblo. Most of what you see here is within a day's drive: the bluffs south of Florence, Ophir Creek, the Arkansas River, and the Four Corners country I keep going back to. I love the area west of Pueblo in the fall when the cottonwoods change.
