Lightning at Ghost Ranch
I was experimenting with the outline style and feeling influenced by Robert Daughters. In addition to the black outlines the lighting strike was fun to do as a white outline.

A lot of these paintings started with my teardrop trailer. I will pull it out to places like Shiprock or Valley of the Gods, camp overnight, and be up before dawn chasing the long shadows. Sometimes my Chihuahua comes along. More than once a view has stopped me in my tracks and I have driven home knowing exactly what I am going to paint.
