God's Fingerprint
Valley of the Gods Butte and Ravine. After spending the night in the valley, I raced to photograph the monuments with long shadows and with interesting foreground elements. This is another in that series. This technique feels like one that is determining where my personal painting style is headed.

Bluffs
A lot of these paintings started with my teardrop trailer. I will pull it out to places like Shiprock or Valley of the Gods, camp overnight, and be up before dawn chasing the long shadows. Sometimes my Chihuahua comes along. More than once a view has stopped me in my tracks and I have driven home knowing exactly what I am going to paint.
