Chamisa and Thunder Heads at Florence

Bluff South of Florence CO. This bluff stands in contrast to clouds and dark distant mountains. Painted as part of Paint-the-Town a few years ago. I was playing with an outline technique. I even tried magenta outlines for the warm clouds. Enjoyed how the chamisa shapes echoed the cloud shapes.

Bluffs

I am a native Colorado artist and I paint out of Pueblo. Most of what you see here is within a day's drive: the bluffs south of Florence, Ophir Creek, the Arkansas River, and the Four Corners country I keep going back to. I love the area west of Pueblo in the fall when the cottonwoods change.
